Independent Film Festival Boston
Larry has had a relationship with the Independent Film Festival Boston - Boston's biggest, best, and most independent film fest - for many years now. They allow him to make new and very different festival opens every year - narrative, graphic, cinematic, wacky, what have you. Below are a few of the festival opens Larry concepted, wrote, directed, AD'd, produced, shot, edited , and/or sang in. If Larry could make IFFBoston opens every day, he'd be an even happier man.

The 2019 Trailer featured a robot sculpture created by Boston artist Skunk, stop motion animation by Larry, with music by Rob Jaret and lyrics by Larry and Rob – a mash-up of film and fest terms. Good times!
Quiet, simple, and fun/challenging to animate. Thanks to illustrator Judy Wong, composer Robert Jaret, sound designer Mark Wong, and voiceover Frans Rijnbout.
The 2016 Independent Film Festival Trailer featured a graphic approach, based on the print design of Jodi Vautrin. Robert Jaret used a live string section in his simple elegant original score. Very nice.
For the 2015 Independent Film Festival Boston trailer, we again went with a quirky narrative piece starring Frans Rijnbout, but with an expanded cast featuring a surprise guest. The audience reactions were priceless, including a nice shout out from Jason Segel on opening night.
INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL BOSTON 2014 OPEN/TRAILER
I was writer, director, editor, producer, and singer on this, our most popular open. Courtney and Patrick Ryan were behind the lens. Actor Frans Rijnbout killed it. Thanks to the Nantucket Lightship Museum in Boston Harbor for the great location.
INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL BOSTON 2012 OPEN/TRAILER
This was shot all hand held time-lapse on my iPhone. Courtney Ryan has a few shots in there too.
INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL BOSTON 2013
This open was shot by me, Courtney Ryan and Patrick Ryan over a couple nights wandering Boston and Cambridge with a Canon C300. No one knew they were being shot...except for me in my cameo. Fun to shoot. Fun to edit.
INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL BOSTON 2011
We pulled a handful of actors and recreated famous movie scenes with a green screen. It needed lots of compositing work.
